Encounter Conditions

While Etheric, if you have not gotten a sloshing vase today

Encounter results depend on your chance of encounters bonuses. Add the following:

X = 3 + (Chance of Combat encounters + Chance of PvP encounters – Chance of Noncombat encounters)

If X ≤ 0, gain a painted flower or sloshing vase
If X = 1, gain 5 turns of Dripping with Gore
If X = 2, gain 10 turns of Dripping with Gore
If X = 3, gain 15 turns of Dripping with Gore
If X = 4, gain 20 turns of Dripping with Gore
If X = 5, gain 25 turns of Dripping with Gore
etc.

First paragraph is always:

Passing through the halls, among the shifting vistas, you find a table stained with blood and still covered with bits of gore. A vase of rather pretty flowers sits on the far side of the table, as though daring you to reach for it.

Second paragraph is:

1-2	A stream of gore rises up from the table, washing around you and covering you. You manage to escape before you're completely covered.	5-10
3	A geyser of gore rises up from the table, washing around you and covering you. You manage to escape before you're completely covered.	15
4-5	A geyser of gore rises up from the table, washing around you and covering you. You manage to escape before the hall is completely filled.	20-25
6-9	A wave of gore rises up from the table, washing around you and covering you. You manage to escape before the hall is completely filled.	30-45
10+	A tidal wave of gore rises up from the table, washing around you and covering you. You manage to escape before the hall is completely filled.	50+

Third paragraph: If you already have some Dripping with Gore:

You might want to wipe yourself off. This stuff is just getting caked on deeper, clotting and getting tangled into your clothing.

Or, with an empty vase equipped:

A <geyser/wave/tidal wave> of gore rises up from the table, but you catch the worst of it in your vase.

You filled your equipped offhand to bloody vase

If X is zero or negative:

You're take up its dare and pluck a flower from the vase.

On closer inspection, it seems like someone painted over the flower. Odd.

You found: painted flower

Or, after taking over three painted flowers in a single day without a vase item equipped (if you have a vase equipped you continue to pluck painted flowers above).

You're take up its dare and grab the whole vase. Ha! Ha!

You found: sloshing vase

You've earned <x> XP in Reflexes

You've earned <x> XP in Will

Where X is the number of flowers picked.
(Removes this encounter for the day)
