You find your way back to the director's office. There aren't many employees around here, but there are definitely more security guards than anywhere else on the floor.

Thankfully, they wander a bit, so you have a moment between passes.

You pry at the scanner a bit and even get the cover off, but can't do much with the mess of wires.

You crack open the scanner and easily find the wire to get the door open. The red light that begins blinking is probably a bad sign, however.

Swipe your badge

With janitorial ID/mailroom ID:

You swipe your badge and the door gives a dejected "bee-donk." Giving it another try just earns the same sound.

With downtown manager ID:

You swipe your badge and the door unlocks with a polite click. You let yourself in to a clean, well-appointed office with a few papers scattered around and a prominent computer.

The computer has one odd bit of customization, the faint image of a cartoon ghost on the screen like a watermark. You can almost convince yourself it's not there.
