You see Janet Barsukov, who had been working on collecting lasers for the show, gliding through the crowd. She doesn't seem to have gotten the "costume party" memo, still wearing her tailored suit and staring at her clipboard.
It wouldn't be entirely surprising if she didn't know everyone else was wearing costumes.

Check on the lasers
She shakes her head, looking down at her clipboard. "I honestly don't know. Their buffers are filling up with information we never put in there, no matter how many times we clear them or whether we cut them off from the network."
"It's like something's streaming back from the holograms and that just doesn't make any fucking sense!" Several of the nearby Emerald Gift fans hush her and she gives them a rude gesture before heading resolutely towards the stage.
Attack her
"Gather round," she says to the nearby students, "see the special Halloween show!"
They clap excitedly as the blur in her hand resolves into a pistol.

She smiles, possibly even touched with a little kidness, and says "well, you obviously earned it," handing you a fistful of candy.
