Encounter Conditions

(Can get while Etheric)

Text

There are multiple lines, depending on the situation.

First line:

Nothing interesting seems to be going on near you, so you take a moment to catch your breath and take a look around.

Second line:

Well, there's not a stage yet, but you imagine that'll get fixed before Halloween. Other than that things look sparse but good. There aren't a ton of workers, but stuff is still getting done.

Or, after the stage is set up

Things look sparse but good. There aren't a ton of workers, but stuff is still getting done.

If Etheric (?), one of:

The terrain is barren and stark, like an old lava flow. Here and there, you can see crystalline shapes struggling to break free.

Or

The terrain is barren and lifeless, like whatever used to be here has long gone into hiding.

Or

The terrain is barren and lifeless, like the very essence had been smothered out of this place.

Or after adding a good amount of shivering cables

A swirling portal hangs in the air, casting the stage in a stark green light. Below it the terrain is barren and stark, like an old lava flow. Here and there, you can see crystalline shapes struggling to break free.

Or, if people have been very naughty

You can see swirling portals ripped into the air above the stage. Below them the terrain is barren and stark, like an old lava flow. Here and there, you can see crystalline shapes struggling to break free.

Or, even worse

Swirling vortexes of green light spin above the stage, exchanging bolts of energy like flashes of lightning. Below that spectacle the terrain is barren and stark, like an old lava flow. Here and there, you can see crystalline shapes struggling to break free.

Third line, if music is playing on the big speakers, not your comm (see Empty Stage):
If Halloween Lament

Eerie music rumbles from the stage. It's unsettling, but probably best that they test it out before the concert.

With 571 or Brain Staples playing

Punk music blasts from the stage. It's a strange contrast to the music they're planning to put up there Halloween night.

With Emerald Gift playing

Eerie music rumbles from the stage. It's unsettling, but probably best that they test it out before the concert.

With Halloween Lament playing?

Sad music spreads from the stage like a miasma. It's depressing everyone. Well, except, presumably, whoever queued it up.

Third line with no music, fourth line otherwise:
With no people helping

Aside from you, it looks like there's just the core group of workers here. The place could probably use some new blood.

With only one person helping

Aside from you, there's just one <punk or security guard or hipster> and the normal workers.

With 2+ punks helping

Aside from you and the normal workers, the place is mostly filled with punks. They seem intent on handing out fliers for something.

With several punks and 571 playing on the loudspeakers

Aside from you and the normal workers, the place is mostly filled with punks. They seem pretty pumped about the choice of background music.

With 2+ security guards helping

Aside from you and the normal workers, the place is mostly filled with security guards. They don't seem too intent on brutality, which is a welcome change.

With 2+ hipsters helping

Aside from you and the normal workers, the place is mostly filled with hipsters. They wander from place to place working on only the most "artistic" projects.

With several hipsters and Emerald Gift playing on the loudspeakers

Aside from you and the normal workers, the place is mostly filled with hipsters. They wander from place to place humming along to the background music.

With just hipsters and guards

Aside from you and the normal workers, the place is filled with hipsters and security guards. They seem to be getting along well enough.

With all three people helping

The place is a broad mix of people. You've got the normal workers and security guards, but also hipsters and punks. It's kind of cool.

This encounter takes no Energy.
