Initial Text

Walls of stone… or foam, probably, criss-cross the Hall of Paintings, creating a maze. Students heading towards the party are milling around aimlessly in all directions. They're certainly no help, although they seem to be enjoying themselves.

Summary of Choices

  1. Think you way through
  2. Barge your way through
  3. Cut your way through (only with a sword weapon or knife weapon equipped?)
  4. Investigate the webs
  5. Wander aimlessly

Choice Text and Results

Think you way through

You conduct a systematic search. There are only so many ways a maze can be arranged, especially in so small a space.

You don't find the end, but you're pretty sure you're on the right track.

You've earned 4 XP in Perception

Barge your way through

You smash your way through a foam brick wall. It's tiring, but probably faster than going around.

You've earned 4 XP in Strength

Cut your way through

You deftly cut your way through a foam brick wall. The pieces are more resistant to cuts than you'd expect, so you have to go along the seams.

It takes a while, but not all the bricks get destroyed.

You found: foam rock

You've earned 4 XP in Reflexes

Investigate the webs

If sober:

You dig around in the webbing some and… it really seems endless. Fake spiders hang from fake strands.

It's basically the perfect Halloween decoration.

You've gained 20 energy of Halloween Spirit.

If Etheric:

You dig around in the webbing some and… it really seems endless… and infested with spiders the size of your fist. One in particular seems to have its glittering eyes set on you.

(Fight a Lurking Spider)

Wander aimlessly

There are probably enough dead ends in this maze to keep you occupied all night, but it is a very nice maze.
