Uses

Get one result randomly from the following. Repeats are possible.

You unroll the canvas to find a painstakingly detailed portrait of a young man painting a portrait. The recursion is a little distressing, but is nothing compared to the twisted creature the young man is painting.

Or

You unroll the canvas to find a bizarre figure study. An almost-human creature is posed, menacing the artist with a hooked chain.

(Ghouls can now drop a hooked chain)

Or

You unroll the canvas to find a strange painting. An inhuman creature is hunched over a pile of tattered clothing. It's picking through the pile, looking for something.

The creature's expression is unreadable. There's no way to tell if its searching for some lost bit of humanity or picking over the remains of its last meal.

Or

You unroll the canvas to find a detailed painting. Several giant worms are bursting from outside the painting and descending on someone that looks a lot like you.

That's more than a little distressing.

You unroll the canvas to find a disturbingly detailed portrait of an inhuman creature dissecting and eating a corpse. A pile of surgical tools and a first aid kit lays off to the side.

You unroll the canvas, finding a portrait of Dr. Mira in her usual lab attire.

Or, if you've toppled the stone figured in A Lake Covered By Mists:

You unroll the canvas, finding a streaked painting of flames consuming chunks of black stone. You're not sure why, but it sends a chill down your spine.

Or, if the artist is dead:

You unroll the canvas, finding it utterly blank.

Or if the artist is freed from captivity

You unroll the canvas to find a self portrait in front of the familiar backdrop of Southside Park. Yeah, that's definitely it… you even recognize the bum in the background, <he gave you that crazy baseball bat (if you sided with the Friendly Bum) / that guy's crazy (if you sided with Carlos)>.

Or, if you brought the artist to the island in A Lake Covered By Mists:

You unroll the canvas to find a detailed painting of a great whirlpool of swirling green energy, faintly suggesting an eye at its center.
