Encounter Conditions

Orbital Watch equipped, after agreeing to help in the Speaking With The Executive
Etheric
Repeats every few energy until you launch an attack or abandon your post?

Initial Text

The veil of dust pulls back to reveal a drone command center. You've been tasked with determining where the Nationalist resistance is and crushing it.

Your commander wishes to see the opposition crushed in one massive attack, so you've only got one shot once you give the order.

You have full control of 20 legions of drones and can command them to attack wherever you'd like.

Scouting minigame

You begin with 20 legions of drones, which you must distribute between the 4 continents (Africa, Americas, Eurasia and Oceania). You can request resources to gain 1 more legion (or gain 5 legions if you have a philosopher stone equipped).

The enemy has about 18-21 legions, which are distributed among the continents. To win, you need to send at least that many legions of drones to each location. Before launching the attack, you can scout out the locations to aid in allocating legions.

Messages can take the form:

Your drones report that the nationalist army in <location> is small, no more than three legions.
Your drones report that the nationalist army in <location> is moderately sized, between four and six legions.
Your drones report that the nationalist army in <location> is massive, more than six legions.

Your drones report that the nationalist army between <location> and <location> totals x legions.

Your drones report that the force in <location> is smaller than the one in <location>, but larger than the one in <location>.
Your drones report that the force in <location> is smaller than the one in the <location>, but equal to the one in <location>.
Your drones report that the force in <location> is smaller than the one in <location> and the <location>.
Your drones report that the force in <location> is larger than the one in the <location> and <location>.

Request resources

corporate%20commander%20100.jpg

You make a request to your commanding office for more drones and receive an additional legion.

Or, with a philosopher stone equipped:

You crack open the philosopher stone and, from within its liquid depths, gather enough resources to purchase five additional legions.

(Lose philosopher stone)

Launch the attack!

You have full control of 21 legions of drones and can command them to attack wherever you'd like.

Africa: ___
The Americas: ___
Eurasia: ___
Oceania: ___

Make the call

If you enter non-sensical input, including 0,0,0,0:

battle%20seen%20100.jpg

You make the final order to attack.

Your drones seem confused by your commands. It's going to take a while to sort out.

If you lose:

battle%20seen%20100.jpg

You make the final order to attack.

Your drones are overwhelmed by the 8 legions in Africa. With the corporate line broken, your headquarters is swarmed by nationalists within days.

If you win (requires all legions you send to be equal or larger than all opposing forces):

battle%20seen%20100.jpg

You make the final order to attack.

Your drones overwhelm the nationalist forces across the globe, sending up plumes of fire into the dusty night air.

You've learned a new Skill: Time of War
(Hidden: Lose the Time of Collapse skill, if you have it.)

(Ends orbital watch encounters for the day; advances to dusty clipboard encounters if you have it equipped)

Or, if you win and already have the Time of War skill:

battle%20seen%20100.jpg

You make the final order to attack.

Your drones overwhelm the nationalist forces across the globe, sending up plumes of fire into the dusty night air.

For your hard work and extended service, your corporate overlords grant you a scale model of one of the drones. It's pretty cool but, frankly, it's probably something they just had lying around.

You found: army drone model

(Ends orbital watch encounters for the day; advances to dusty clipboard encounters if you have it equipped)

Not quite yet

You forestall the order to attack… perhaps once you've gotten more intel.

Abandon your post

corporate%20commander%20100.jpg

You turn in your resignation to corporate high command and are summarily executed. It's not painful… they don't seem to have any desire to punish you, just remove the security risk.

The world seems clearer when you awake, bereft of the cloud of dust lingering at its edges.

You've gained 50 duration of Flicker of Peace.
