Definitely boosts power by at least one, I've gotten it to overkill connection records with a wideband assault.

Here are some ways I used to test power of Forge Blade's under circumstances:
guardian, cyberserpent - 3 offense to defeat
control lock - 4 offense to get "crack open the lock before the routine seems fully aware"
data bouncer, external camera - those also seem to need 4 offense to remove
guidance system shoreline - page says 6 offense needed, I think I needed only 5
pale swordsman - on your first attack, 4 offense stuns, 5 offense kills

(and I put lists of what I would use to test command and view on forge gauntlet's and forge orb's talk pages).

It looks like there's some kind of combo between Inhuman Defense/Inhuman Shift and the wideband functions. When I was starting batches with either of those functions, I got messages at the start of my results for each wideband function I used.

Wideband Assault: Your attack echoes off the inhuman code, crashing into the system from every direction.
Wideband Command: Your command echoes off the inhuman code, crashing into the system from every direction.
Wideband Search: Your demand echoes off the inhuman code, crashing into the system from every direction.

Dunno exactly what it's doing, but I imagine it's making them more effective.
