Interesting. I took 3 monday chips today, then when I was out of energy, got my Will up to 51 (82) with equipment and took *34* unformatted memory cores before the 35th gave me the headache.

A possible hypothesis is that your buffed Will counts as a numerical cap for the chips. A quality recording is worth 8 will, a standard recording (i.e. study chip) is worth 4 will, and an unformatted core is worth 2 will. When you exceed this, the next chip will give you a headache.

At 81 buffed Will, took about 10 "quality" recordings (island raid, crane, family dinner, climber) before a very unfortunate chip headache, suggesting each of these chips counts as two towards the will/4 cap.

Perception: 92 (98)
Reflexes: 73 (76)
Strength: 63 (78)
Will: 64 (87)

23rd chip gave me a headache, meaning 22 chips were taken safely, strongly suggesting a will/4 cap.

Perception: 55 (77)
Reflexes: 53 (49)
Strength: 59 (64)
Will: 49 (79)

22nd study chip gave me the headache.

However, I boosted Will up further to 90. I got one chip in before another headache set in.

I kind of wonder if your "chip capacity" is tied to one of your stats. I was able to use 11 numbing chips, 3 study chips, and a berserk chip and still haven't gotten a headache, with my stats all above 40.
