<p>Nothing special for reading this with &gt; 26 perception for the first time. Read once for 20 chapters, read again for Simple Coding. (I have ~40 perc.)</p>

<p>Ah, I hadn't realized that's how it works. Guess I shouldn't have been so quick sending off a bug report. Sorry, Kinak.</p> <p><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Off-by-one_error" target="_blank">Here</a> is what an OBOE is.</p>

						 <p>It always gives you &lt;base perception-5&gt; chapters, unless that would bring you over 20, in which case it just reads the rest of them. Then you have to read it one more time to get the skill. There's no randomness - and your above situation works as we've spaded:</p> <table class="wiki-content-table"> <tr> <td>Perception</td> <td>Number Read</td> <td>Total Read</td> </tr> <tr> <td>10</td> <td>5</td> <td>5</td> </tr> <tr> <td>13</td> <td>8</td> <td>13</td> </tr> <tr> <td>13</td> <td>7</td> <td>20</td> </tr> <tr> <td>13</td> <td colspan="2">Acquire skill</td> </tr> </table> <p>Also, what's an OBOE?</p>

<p>You don't always read &lt;<a href="http://metroplexity.wikidot.com/perception">Perception</a> - 5&gt; chapters. I read twice in a row with a base <a href="http://metroplexity.wikidot.com/perception">Perception</a> of 13 and read 8 and then 7 chapters. Given the use text, maybe you need to spend some time between reading to get best results, or maybe it's variable.</p> <p>Also, I had read 5 chapters before and had to read it again to finish. So either there's an OBOE, or you're supposed to have to read &gt; 20 chapters, not &gt;= 20.</p>
