Curious. I'm noticing a pattern where it doesn't work with watches that aren't etheric themed. I'll see if I can't send you a Stopped Watch and Scorched Watch. The sources for those watches are not in permanent areas.

Confirmed that it works with the strange watch, not with antiquey, omni, super holo, actual antique, classic, or watch of tomorrow.

Well this technique certainly opens up the possibilities. Like, how about using it with the Strange Watch from the Quad Psycho equipped? Or all the other variety of etheric themed time pieces like the Stopped Watch and Scorched Watch.

Perhaps even get into the not etheric themed time pieces like the Antiquey Watch and Actual Antique Watch.

When this first rolled I tried swapping the ancient timepiece in as part of my standard +Eclipse Duration outfit and taking Eclipse (it was probably Hound Eclipse) and not getting any techniques. So I'm not sure whether I had missed an unlock before or whether getting the technique was bugged and is now fixed.

DoctrZombie reports, starting with 5 energy of ocean sight and 5 eclipse duration (includes the timepiece):
+70 etheric -> 3 instances
liquified eclipse for +50 -> 2 instances
3*eclipse tablet for +30 -> 1 instance
soaked eclipse with only +2 duration for +49 -> 2 instances
liquified with only +2 duration for +35 -> 1 instance

I used 2 soaked eclipse with +8 eclipse duration for 182 energy of fae sight and got 9 instances of this.
I was already etheric, with 13 eteric power and year-long-not-reset stats.

There's no flavor message, just the "You learned a new technique: …" bit.
