I was hoping to grow an abomination by gradually adding in parts. So I had a set of tubegrown bones in the tube waiting to be harvested. I then set the dial to add some flesh. But all that happened was this:
You turn the dial to 5 and the liquid near the center of the tube congeals into a viscous substance that resembles raw meat.
The bones in the tube break into white motes that slowly disperse back into the liquid.
It's possible that there's a correct order, and that doing things in this order would avoid this result, but I'm not hopeful.
EDIT: Stop the presses! Going back, I get this:
A mass of shifting heavy bones and congealed tissue float near the center of the tube, slowly buffeted by the streams of bubbles.
My plan was/is to start go bones > organ > brain > eyes > legs > arms. Setting the dial to organs doesn't seem unusual:
You turn the dial to 19 and the protoflesh inside the tube shudders, then begins beating like the heart you didn't know you needed.
Returning gets me:
A mass of shifting heavy bones and organs float near the center of the tube, slowly buffeted by the streams of bubbles.
But trying to grow more flesh using the usual number doesn't work. Hmm.
You turn the dial to 5, but nothing seems to happen except for the continual flow of bubbles.
MOAR EDIT: I asked Kinak about the message about the bones dissolving and the inability to grow flesh again and he said:
The display's a little weird. Should be clearer now.
Maybe I have to alternate bones/flesh/bones? I will see if I can add legs to my bones and organs.
FURTHER UPDATE: So it looks like the flesh got made after all.

(The image is tube of tissue.jpg) I think I'll stick with the plan and add in the brain. So far, so good:
You turn the dial to 2 and the protoflesh inside the tube shudders, collapsing in on itself like the folds of a brain.
Now:
A mass of shifting heavy bones, brains, organs, and congealed tissue float near the center of the tube, slowly buffeted by the streams of bubbles.
Odd, I don't think that congealed tissue should be there. I think I had better add flesh again, just to be safe. (Hoping to add eyes next.)
Eyes added as a matter of course.
Checking back:
A mass of shifting heavy bones, brains, eyes, organs, and congealed tissue float near the center of the tube, slowly buffeted by the streams of bubbles.
Trying to add bones gives:
You turn the dial to 6 and motes of white matter slowly collect near the center of the tube, eventually accreting into a set of bones.
Meanwhile, the remaining protoflesh in the tube dissolves back into liquid.
I don't think that extra protoflesh should actually be there, and I hope trying to start in on the legs didn't mess anything up. (I reported this to Kinak.)
Returning:
A mass of shifting heavy bones, brains, eyes, organs, and fragile bones float near the center of the tube, slowly buffeted by the streams of bubbles.
Made legs no problem, but it's reporting extra fragile bones. Just to be safe, I'll add them again. Image this time is Eyes In A Tube.jpg, for some reason.
A mass of shifting legs, heavy bones, brains, eyes, organs, and fragile bones float near the center of the tube, slowly buffeted by the streams of bubbles.
Ready to add arms. Image is now Brain in a Tube.jpg.
A mass of shifting legs, heavy bones, brains, eyes, organs, and fragile bones float near the center of the tube, slowly buffeted by the streams of bubbles.
And normal arm message.
You turn the dial to 3 and the bones inside shudder, liquid congealing around them to form something like arms.
Next time there will be all 6 parts in the tube. If it's still just separate parts floating around, I'm not sure what I'll need to do to combine them into a proper abomination.
