With my Fire Defense up to 10, I was able to get my Etheric Power up to 10, and the fight went pretty smoothly. I think I was at around 15 Melee Defense.

You call out. A strange green light floats down from the sky, surrounding and consuming the spider for 17 etheric damage.
The spider batters you with two legs for 2 melee damage.

You let Eclipse expand into the pattern of a massive serpent that strikes at the spider for 29 etheric damage.

You hold a frozen skull aloft. Unnatural flames roar out of it, covering everything in their path, including the spider, with a rime of frost for 18 etheric damage.

The firework spider is suspiciously lacking any known drops or rewards for winning against it. I won with Myers sampling kit, didn't get anything special; I haven't tried salvaging tools. Mirror Gazing has not been tested as well.

Ghoultouched gives the same Made of Fire result as the Phoenix. I note I got 9 XP reward (6 strength, 3 will), I only used strength techniques so a possible 3 Will XP reward for eating it? Petrol Splash, Snow Blade, Toxic Grip might be extra effective against it.

Possibly something if you have coughing fit or use smoky techniques?

It's possible there might be a way to get some sort of drop from it, but I think the main thing is that beating it unlocks the Firework Globe the day afterwards.
