Way late in the game (only hel left to rescue), I'm curious about how to get a plasma tv, so I head back to the park. I remembered buying a watch, which seemed to enable a tv purchase next time I saw him. This time, I've bought two watches, some grain alcohol, and a gas mask (that one ages ago), and no tv is evident. Do I have to wait until tomorrow or something?

I've been having the same sort of issue. I have 4 watches from him, and bought 2 of everything else. I've not once had the tv offered. Maybe you can only get it early game?

I've gotten it after a run, so it's not early on. It may be random chance, or may just not trigger unless you have the cash for it. I forget how expensive it was.

Oh, the cash is a good point, I'm pretty sure it costs 100 cred (although I'm also pretty sure I had that much). Also, you can (or could) definitely get it early on, I've got it just after the southside park quest before. The watch —-> TV always seemed to work for me, and makes sense too (you're encouraged by the bum to buy the watch, despite its apparent uselessness).

Just got that this run, seems to be buy the watch and equip it. Next encounter with him is the TV.

Ah, equipping it, you're almost certainly right. Early on in the game I equip it because what the hell, it's the only gadget I have, even if there's no effect. Late in the game I have no reason to mechanics-wise.

I retrieved my items the other day anyway, and I'm super enjoying the descrambled TV (See Happy Dragon).
