Talk about breakpoints and stash values between Ecofuel and Hungry Ooze it seemed clear to me that the Hungry Ooze is where the stash value messages hinted towards breakpoints. From what I understand, it took a long time for this item to get sorta spaded because it was only being fed leftover crap. But, even after that revelation was made, this iteration of the hungry ooze egg lacked anything to show for the big things you feed it.
So I fed it the knuckle strands. As far as I can tell, no other gadget has been released that's above .6 value. I checked. Went through the Items by ID list. So this is as good as it can get for the hungry ooze egg. Yet it still didn't put out. Here's what I've done to try to encourage it:
- Fought mostly non-humanoids in morally neutral situations
- Carried the egg a few days. Though I did switch out the egg for some other gadgets semi-frequently each day which may have affected things
- Used every single combat type with the egg. Huge variety of techniques. Though perhaps none of them with particularly extraordinary attack power. Nor did I necessarily combine a bunch of different types of damage types
So whatever this thing does must require something else. My bets would be you need to go through all the other forms of the ooze first and get their stuff first. Then perhaps hold onto the egg and don't let go like I did a ton of times throughout the few days. I know the extreme tackle box, at the very least, gets confused when you are constantly equipping and unequipping it.
