So, I spent a full day's energy on this, though not entirely optimally. Had a little bit of Dripping with Gore which was blocking me from getting close, and I did kill a serving drone which got some alarm. That's probably not optimal unless you're burning through several days worth of energy at once.

Initial results: 35 fancy clutches, 30 gold necklaces, 32 fresh cred chips, 39 gold cred chips. Did not track polarized shades and downtown visitor IDs.

After using the clutches, totals end up as: 36 gold necklaces, 36 fresh cred chips, 48 gold cred chips.

Results from those…
Gold necklaces: 1654
Fresh cred chips: 1228
Gold cred chips: 5808

For a total of: 8690

Not bad, but less than an average day of ghost ship farming. Just one data point, but it did seem to be a bit high on the gold cred chips, which means it might even skew toward the high end. We'll see what some more attempts can garner in the future, though.

Don't forget to use a PDA and a comm skimmer if you're going pickpocketing.

Good point about the comm skimmer. Trying again with that on, and not killing the serving drone to maximize energy spent pickpocketing.

If I'd gotten that level of creds from comm skimming yesterday, it would have been in the range of ghost ship farming, though there seems to be plenty of RNG as to whether you'll get credits from the skimmer or not. As it stands, there's now the question of whether yesterday or today is more around the average for sellable item drops.

It looks like this encounter might go away for the day if you've killed the Fashionable Visitor. Or at least it's certainly been a while without seeing it, even with no alarms going.

It looks like you can pickpocket even if you aren't able to join in conversation. Not sure exactly what's triggering it. I was able to pickpocket with this equipment, though, even though I couldn't mingle:

At pickpocketing SOLID (5) - (11 to next Rank), spending 250 energy (about 3 days), I got 169 pickpocketing attempts. Comm skimmer equipped.

Comm skimmer results 51 in total, so about a third of the time:

I'm curious how these would change at higher or lower pickpocketing level. Is there a difficulty level for each item individually or just the pickpocket overall?

Selling all this I got 24902 credits, almost exactly 100 credits per turn, or 147 credits per pickpocketing attempt. Not bad!
