Took me a second to parse this conversation, I guess there are only two guards involved. Somehow I initially imagined this was 3-4 different guards giving different opinions.
The guards are chatting among themselves, passing arguments back and forth in a practiced manner. GUARD 1: "Screw that Lattes! stuff, man. You need real coffee. Kind that'll degrease an engine."
GUARD 2: "Yeah, I should just wash down my cheese fries with battery acid."
GUARD 1: "Man, I know you're only hard on Lattes! because the sommelier won't give you his number."
GUARD 2: "Ugh, only if he lets me buy him some better cyberware. But the point is, you can't wash that down with a latte… so you should just give it to me."
But that makes sense. No change to the Lattes! downtown conversation with the coffee tender.
