The Hounds of Hameln just purchased our first one, and I believe Jumbucks in a Tuckerbag is working towards one / has one as well?

Anyway. So we can try to figure out what's going on record your activities in similar format to the below (if certain info appears to be irrelevant after some data collection, we'll drop it):

Hounds. Recorded slaying writhing mass. Got 3 XP Perception.
Hounds. Recorded defeating helidrone. 2 XP Strength, 1 XP Will.

My findings so far training at the target gallery:

• watching recording of man mobile: 3xp Perception
• watching recording of man mobile: 2xp Will + Brutality
• watching recording of man mobile: 2xp Perception + Steady Shot
• watching recording of man mobile: 2xp Perception + 1xp Will

After that I got the following message: "Nobody has any new fights recorded for you."
I also got Dirty Trick and Focused Burst but forgot to record xp gains.

Gathered recordings:

• Ghoul: 2xp Perception + 1xp Strenght
• Dockside Security: 1xp Perception + 1xp Will
• Dockside Security: 1xp Perception + 1xp Will

The recordings I made were from the quad, the docks, and the sewers. Also, I was unable to play my own recordings. Right after recording one, I tried and got the message nobody recorded a fight yet.

You're not supposed to be able to view your own recordings.

That was a bug. I got a MySQL error when first using it after having recorded a fight with two dockhands, and filed a bug report.

verbatim from Kinak: "There was a bug with how it stored the data, which resulted in two problems: the SQL error you saw (because it couldn't figure out who recorded the fight for you) and the fact that it let you watch your own recording. It's supposed to teach you by watching other people's fights :)"

Specifically, though it's largely irrelevant now, I recorded fighting two dockhands at once one time with the visor, and I viewed that recording twice, getting 1 XP Will both times.

You boot up a recording of RazielSonOfKain fighting and follow along. It's pretty intense and you learn a surprising amount just watching RazielSonOfKain fight.
You learned a new Technique: Steady Shot

Gah, didn't manage to get anything done with this today, sorry :(

When I logged in again, we had lost all control in The Docks and Dockside Sewers, so I had to get it back, y'see…

We have complete control over The Docks, and *almost* complete control over Dockside Sewers now, but I never thought to put my visor on before I ran out of mojo. Er, energy. :(

I admit I've been sneakily hoping someone will wrest control from us while we're online so I can get more old coins…

Anyway, recorded:

…and I don't think the mutant son is going to show up to reclaim his glowing bauble at the lab. I'll try somewhere else after dinner.

Yeah, this happened to me too, so I just shrugged and went back to the Docks. I got what I came for.

The glowing bauble is a quest item, so I have a feeling the quest continues along this path. Plus, a +4 Etheric Defense item isn't exactly reward-worthy (even on top of the salvaging tools), and I don't see why that path would prevent you from finding him again for other reasons.

I gave up last time I got the glowing bauble, but I'd like to find the kid again this time. I'll also be wandering around with a silver blade for other easter egg hopes.

On the other hand, the quest disappears from the log after you get the glowing bauble and talk to his father. Perhaps the son is being unfriendly because you helped the doctors, even though you then gave him the glass bauble that freed him. Heck, I don't know, maybe the kid possessed the glowing bauble or something. Anyway, it would be a shame if this method stopped you from completing the mission for the Third Eye, and if the glowing bauble was the only rather poor benefit.

I think the technique list above is enough to determine whether that makes a difference in training, so:
