Fishing results, starting from Just Starting with just one point of improvement previously. With a new fishing pole and a sea sapphire boosting me.

Tried some high test and toxic worm while being etheric after getting him to talk about the big eel, but nothing so far. Also tried briefly jumping into the lake and swimming around, but didn't see anything new on a short check.
Tried fishing with him while Etheric - thought the Terrible Serpent fishing result might do something. Got it with High Test, but it didn't do drop anything special, nor did it change any of his text after I fought it.
Up to Professional level in Fishing now, tried being etheric and getting the maximum possible value for Chance of Deep Fishing with known items (even though it meant swapping out Toxic Worm), but still no sign of the big eel.
Edit: Got up to a +10 modifier to fishing, with Marine Cunning and Fish Empathy, still nothing, so I don't think it's just about skill.
Also tried using all the same buffs but with a deep water pole, so dropping down to a +8 modifier. Still nothing, though it does feel like my chance of getting lake gulpers has gone up a bit with a higher bonus.
I've also tried checking out records in MBR lab and Slags lab, including using a Biotech PDA, but there don't appear to be any new records added in either of them referring to Artyom.
In Norse mythology, Hymir is a jotun who figures in a fishing story where Thor catches Jormungandrr the Midgard serpent (which sort of checks out with the bigger "eel" in the depths?)
Is this how Midgard top brass get rid of each other?
Tried adding Dripping with Gore to my effects while fishing, since I'm not aware of any ox heads we've got to try using as bait, but doesn't seem like the blood is helping to attract whatever's down there.
After much chess training, I can confirm that getting the vision from King difficulty chess in the computer lab doesn't give you any more options or a different result when asking Artyom about memories. Ditto with having used a massive assailant sketch after getting that vision.
Nothing special for dressing like the monocled man - monocle, suit, etc.
Nothing found while swimming around lake Metroplex a bunch with fishing pole equipped and toxic worm.
