To check: Does this apply an effect? Hitting an opponent with Emotional Grip changes after this, so it seems pretty plausible.

Also note, the damage avoidance is directional.

Longshot ideas to test with:

• Grappler Gauntlets
• Midgard Heavy Gauntlets
• Antique Control Gloves
• Missing Hand

EDIT also to add:

At anything like maximum power, the other partygoers would need professional eye protection

Never been clear on whether shades (eg. Saber fight) are distinct from eye protection (eg. disco ball), which is maybe confusingly labeled Sunglasses on the wiki are distinct from negative Perception buffs — and maybe "professional eye protection" requires all of the above, but this seems like a potential avenue to test whether various opponents have eye protection of some form.

(I *think* all three are actually distinct.)

Testing various opponents. So far, only writhing mass and dead_eye are immune.

Ghoul - A flare of light from your glove momentarily blinds the ghoul.
Bat Swarm - A flare of light from your glove momentarily blinds the bats.
Cornered Rat - A flare of light from your glove momentarily blinds the rat.
Punk Student - A flare of light from your glove momentarily blinds the punk.
Hipster - A flare of light from your glove momentarily blinds the hipster.
Lake Serpent - A flare of light from your glove momentarily blinds the lake serpent.
Deep Hunter - A flare of light from your glove momentarily blinds the hunter.
Palace Guard - A flare of light from your glove momentarily blinds the guard.
Ruins Octopus - A flare of light from your glove momentarily blinds the octopus.
**Writhing Mass - There is a brilliant flare of light from your glove, but it doesn't effect the writhing mass.
Foreign Shark - A flare of light from your glove momentarily blinds the shark.
Rat King - A flare of light from your glove momentarily blinds the rats.
Mushroom Scout - A flare of light from your glove momentarily blinds the scout.
Angered Rat - A flare of light from your glove momentarily blinds the rat.

The light becomes blinding after a few conditions so far. It will happen following an enraged Agitated Glow, a crashing Emotional Glow from a steadied Piercing Glow, and Grasping Glow with Fae Sight underground or Ocean Sight underwater. The Grasping Glow remains speculative but so far it looks to have some manner of Sight criteria.

Spent almost two days trying to get this - stealth power+deck, sober, etheric, etc …
… didn't get a single one until I started using evasion (specifically, dive for cover)

Same as xKiv - I used this versus evasion and got nothing, and used Leaping Dodge and got nothing, but the first combat where I used Dive For Cover, I got the technique.
