Either Summon Crystal Blade is Intensity 7 or Warped Barrier can't defend against it for some other reason:

You weave a barrier out of strange code, interlocking non-standard characters, and invalid network specifications.
Zaibatsu Defender raises a gleaming barrier to protect itself from your attacks.

You launch a massive packet of invalid code at Zaibatsu Defender, dealing 5 Memory damage and 2 Hardening damage.
Zaibatsu Defender summons an icon that resembles a crystal blade. It lashes out at you for 6 Hardening damage and remains at its summoner's side to defend against attacks.

Maybe it's a "pure hardening attack" thing?

Maybe, but Warped Barrier is supposed to defend against "many" different attack types, and since there seem to be only three possibilities - memory, processor and hardness - I was kind of assuming it would cover them all :p
