Quad, outfit:+ Etheric Power, 4 etheric techniques chain
The wording is a bit ambiguous - I take it becomes a dual attack/etheric technique like release the hounds, and doesn't become a non-defensive attack technique. Is that correct?
This technique could use some spading to see how the secondary damage is calculated.
In the beginning, men were mortal.
I finally managed to get to a situation where the previous etheric technique left an opponent standing and the opponent attacked with melee (you just need a bunch of opponents, I don't know why I was looking for somebody with big etheric defense and melee/etheric attacks …).
Got both attack and defense:
You blaze with a sheath of green flame that reaches out to burn the drunk for 19 damage.
The drunk waits until the last moment, then leaps into you, dealing 2 damage, but the drunk pulls back from the flames sparing you all of the damage.

That's with 0 etheric power, 8 evasion power and 10 ranged power. I am assuming it takes base defense + evasion power and uses that with reflexes as an attack .. but what type?
I *think* it works that way (burns, doesn't consume etheric) even non-etheric, following, for example, watch winding (with timepiece) or unleash spider (with tome).
(not sure about when it follows etheric tech that "failed" by not having correct equipment, or by wanting to consume eclipse but character being sober)
I have now confirmed that "Following Etheric techniques" triggers after any technique labeled Etheric, even if it was not powered.
I am 99% sure it doesn't trigger on other techniques, even if they do etheric damage (i.e. (powered) pyrophobia, which is labeled None).
