I'm not sure what causes you to pin an opponent down. Your Stealth Power vs. their Perception or some other stat? Following another attack? I almost always got a pin following another attack, but rarely if it was my opener. I did fail to pin sometimes even on a follow when I didn't have much +Stealth Power get equipped, though.

It looks like this technique can also remove opposing techniques in the following round like Live Wire, with the same message:

<opponent> shakes violently from the electrical current.

After rollover I'll have to try this on a robot.

It seems tesla coil always pins when not opposed by evasion.

-Regularly pinned down Erenoth, who has godly stats and had 10 stealth defense to my 8 stealth power.
-Always pinned opponents on chains that were quite varied, so it's not like jacob's ladder.
-Never ever pinned vs. dive for cover (which is what many opponents start with, so that explains your "rarely if it was my opener" deal, Mag)
-It seems to do some slightly better damage unopposed (and also pins then), but that could just be RNG.

I've theorized that tesla coil sometimes fails to pin when against stealth techs, which it does sometimes. Apparently that isn't the case when Tesla Coil opposes Dirty Pool and itself.
