Oh yeah. Take that, Ocean King! Went in with Ocean Song, Fearsome Strength, Slags Poisoning, Blood of the Ancients, Ocean Sight, Cold Depths, Burning Vision and Fire in Your Belly. Equipped with rebreather mask, crackling branch, tome of binding, shark hide vest, shark hide pants and Myers sampling kit. Perhaps a bit overprepared, but after the thrashing I took my first couple tries I didn't want to take chances.

(Incidentally, it seems that winning this fight has now removed the Distant Palace encounter, unless I've just been really unlucky. It does make some amount of sense, I suppose.)

One thing I've found helpful for this fight is getting the Draught of Breath effect. Then you don't need a rebreather mask in your hat slot, which frees it up for something like the guard helm.

This probably doesn't come as a surprise to anybody, but the shield of scales is amazing for this fight. I manged to get 23 Etheric Defense and 19 Melee Defense from just skills (admittedly, I had Ocean's Touch, Focused Mind, and Lord of Nightmares) and equipment, with the only relevant buff I used being Bone Spikes (from using Hound Eclipse). Sure saved me a lot of Body compared to the way I used to buff up for this fight.

Unfortunately, I now have to burn off a lot of Bone Spikes before I can get the second vision …
