I find it interesting that this item is made out of steel. In many books, iron and steel are anathema to the Fae. I guess David hadn't read any of those books, eh? (Cryptodynamic suggests that the musrhoom people have read them and are biding their time…)

I got the spade after farming that adventure at least 20 times.

active effects:
Effects
Puzzled Out (2)
Bone Spikes (4)
Fae Blessing (52)
Fae Sight (52)

Equipment:

Equipped Items
Hat: slick shades
Weapon: twisting silver blade
Offhand: writhing golem heart
Shirt: black stone vest
Pants: black stone pants
Gadget: gold TZR

I was wearing all of those earlier, and got it eventually.

Stats were
Perception: 23 (17)
Reflexes: 20 (27)
Strength: 25
Will: 22 (27)

Also using it in the mushroom forest, gives a boost to the yield.

Just got this with:

Puzzled Out (1)
Ocean Song (10)
Ocean Sight (45)

Thus it is possible to get this with no Fae effects.
