I'm too excited about playing with new content to cross all the "t"s and dot all the "i"s here, but here's info for later:

The specter collapses into pure flame.

The specter brushes against you. The flesh it touched bursts into flames, dealing 17 damage.

You slam into the specter and deal 16 damage before he can fend off the attack.
The specter drifts forward, straight through you. Your entire body is wracked with chills.

You latch onto the specter and tear a chunk out of him with your teeth, dealing 9 damage.

Someone needs to recheck the "The flesh it touched bursts into flames, dealing <x> damage." cause it's not after it collapses into pure flame.

You pour a rain of automatic fire down on the specter for 22 damage.
The specter drifts forward, straight through you. Your entire body is wracked with chills.

You spray the specter with wild shots intended mostly as cover fire, dealing 19 damage.
The specter brushes against you. The flesh it touched bursts into flames, dealing 5 damage.

You continue laying down cover fire.


You've won the battle!


The shape and its flames shrink back into the floor, leaving little more than a discolored patch of ground.

It seems to be if you have Halloween Lament running, your flesh bursts to flames. Just my tentative observation. I've seen no pattern to on spectral curse playing a roll.
