I just

• reorganized most of the miscellaneous no-magnitude acts and the needs-testing acts of both types into one big table divided by area, with direct links to the encounters. This should make it easier to coordinate this page with encounter pages. Didn't quite finish.
• put limited time content in collapsibles, since Halloween 2010 was swamping everything. We may want to reorganize it, maybe put all holiday content into a separate table. I do kinda like splitting everything into Magnitude 1, 2, 3, and 4 charts with spaces in between though. Makes it more navigatable, and we can put anchors between them.

Feedback? I'll try to finish the revamp soon.

Are we absolutely sure that each action will always, no matter what, result in the same magnitude coin cooling/heating event?

There were many theories (mostly mine) about a personal morality counter or something, but they never seemed to hold up.

Pay careful attention to messages, though. If the coin effect is too intense and forces you to loosen your grip, then your Will is too low for the full effect (and you get bumped down to a lesser one).

So it looks like you can sell mailing lists for a reliable source of whichever level of cold coin effect you want. There's still probably better things to have in your offhand, but a reliable method of getting the effects might make them useful for some purposes. And if the mailing lists count toward things that require you to be evil, they could be quite useful there as well. I wouldn't be surprised if selling some other kinds of stolen data also counts as evil.

• Finishing the Ship Of The Damned quest (got it for the Mercy Killer ending).

Blistering Coin for heroic acts:

• Saving the dying guard in the damaged building. (I got Hot Coin for this)
• Setting free the test subject in the Midgard Laboratory.
• Setting fire to the Fangs stash of Eclipse in the Sewer Hideout.

Hot Coin for self sacrifice.

• Jumping in front of the ghoul to protect a docks security guard.
• Rescuing the dockhand from 3 gangers on the docks (vigilante encounter).
• Encountering the security guards beating up a dockhand (vigilante encounter).
• Burying the dead scientist in the damaged building.
• Encountering Officer Stone and 3 guards(vigilante encounter)(At the beginning of combat)
• Agreeing to help the Trapped Navigator during the Ship of the Damned quest

Warm Coin for decent deeds.

• Helping the Homeless in Southside Park.
• I think I got it at the start of a fight vs a sewer mutant.
• Letting the pool shark go free after chasing him down.
• Letting Mikhail keep the 500 credit reward. <- Or Blistering coin. See Hypothesis and discussion.
• Standing back when you piss off the drunk third eye guy.
• Got it fighting a vigilante encounter in southside park (midgard + 2 fang). Still suspect that it depends on previous actions, though.
• Also got it for the park insane slasher vigilante fight.
• Offering Eclipse for peace at the docks.
• having a waterlogged corpse teach you techniques
• letting the fang boss go free
• passing a thermos of coffee around
• Attempting but failing to save the dying man on the fourth floor
• Burying the dead man's corpse on the fourth floor
• Giving Eclipse to a dock guard to stop him whaling on a dockhand
• Giving the dying man an MBR antidote
• Enacting sabotage on (certain?) sites. (I sabotaged Carl's Invincible Font of Service's mail system. the public files were all ads, so perhaps it was an evil ad site?)
• Not fighting the Third Eye in the Happy Hour after losing his watch
• Burning the crates at the end of the docks quest.
• Proping the passed out drunk against the wall in The Happy Hour
• burying the pile of corpses in the buried lab

Cool Coin for morally questionable actions:

• Selling Eclipse to a dock security guard.
• Giving Eclipse to a dock worker.
• Presumably every time you distribute Eclipse.
• 'Making an example' of a docks worker under your gang's control.
• Blackmailing a dock security guard for money.
• Slipping Eclipse into the drink of sewer hideout guard.
• Burning the guards in their barracks in the sewer hideout.
• Attacking the Pool Hustler. (Or getting the crowd to attack him.)
• Attacking the Navigator.
• Eating people.
• Walking away from the captured David
• Giving a trapped faerie to the sea creature
• Stealing a spherical egg from the shoreline nest
• Pickpocketing the Desperate Dockhand
• Sneaking away from where David is being held
• Fighting a punk student
• Sabotaging a skeleton in Halloween Setup 2009
• Attempting to rile up the crowd with the punk in The Quad During Protest, without a sign equipped.
• Listening to the Evil Eye in the park
• Stealing stuff from the passed out drunk in The Happy Hour

Cold Coin for somewhat reprehensible actions:

• Attempting to fight your way out of the Slags gate from the inside, causing needless violence.
• Unsilencing the corpse on the lake, then attacking it (with gourd in possession).
• Shooting your way out of a crowd of protesters.
• Trading eclipse for containment suit parts in the midgard lab.
• Charging into the damaged buildings second floor encampment.
• Leaving the recently deceased scientist in the damaged building for the vermin.
• Showing the fairy in the sewers your jar and then capturing it.

Freezing Coin for truly depraved actions:

• Making a deal with the Ghoul King for Born of Sorrow.
• Attacking the talking scientists in Midgard Bioresearch.
• Capturing the fairy and giving it back to the fish thing.

Numbing Coin for activities of unspeakable evil:

• Training with the Ghoul King.
• Attacking the group of four scientists in Midgard Bioresearch. (No idea why I got numbing and someone else got freezing)
• Attacking the grateful guard in the docks and making him cry.
• Slipping Eclipse into the Fangs coffee in the Sewer Hideout.
