Just beat one of these guys, but got no new drops.

Nothing special happened when I fought one of these guys wearing the best helmet, imaginary spear, and inspiring horn. I'm not sure why he gets a hound and I get a serpentine mass, though.

Maybe, Mag, you summon a serpentine mass because you are aligned with the ocean somehow? Do you perhaps have the ocean eyes skill?

It'd certainly be worth trying with no alignment, or with Fae Sight. Somebody else will have to do it unless you want to wait around a while until I reset, though.

Ok, I think I got a new combo out of this guy involving pinning with his spear.

Note: It is a bad idea to fight the Flickering Guard with an old fishing pole.
