I am fairly sure the results for seeking out the different drone types will vary quite a bit, since this seems like the kind of puzzle that would have some randomized settings.

I haven't seen it come up in a hint so far, but I think the actual thing you're looking for in this is the 'transmission center'. I also had the headquarters show up as a result in my scouting today, but I instead sent my forces after the one spot that only had a 'facility', after I'd identified headquarters, drone storage and the drone factory. And that was the correct place.

Got a new result! Scouting with the consort crown equipped gave me the usual intro and still only 2 XP, but I got multiple clues at the cost of my crown:

Calling in old favors and stepping away from your crown, you learn that hound drones are guarding the facility in Africa, not the drone factory in Eurasia.
