The place is crawling with guards. One wrong move could bring a whole swarm of them down on you.

This first shows up when you are among the buildings not far from lake metroplex assuming you haven't killed any Fangers.

*after 9-10 failed dash throughs in a row I succeed in the 10th attempt. Did my previous failures change something or was it a simple luck factor?

Is the above data points like worthless now? I thought if I just stuck to it being the first security hole that would be enough to isolate the variables. But here I am. Having gone in-n-out of the hideout to the "first" security hole again and I see I'm at "the edge of the cave, in an area faintly illuminated by the Fangs' jury-rigged lights."

That's not even as far back in the cave as you can be! Has that always been that way this run? Did it become this way after a while? What? Whatever.

You survey the view from the opening you found. You're towards the edge of the cave, in an area faintly illuminated by the Fangs' jury-rigged lights. The Fangs are definitely out in force here.
