Combat:

You imitate the wordless roar of your favorite kaiju and wade into the midst of the tiny snowmen. They swarm around you, trying to bear you to the ground.

You lay into the tiny snowmen for 5 damage.
The tiny snowmen inhale, then breathe a cloud of sparkling motes on you. You shiver, chilled to the core for 6 damage.

You punch the tiny snowmen, throwing the whole weight of your body behind it and dealing 5 damage.
Two of the little snowmen work together to pick up one of their commrades and throw it at you. It explodes in a flurry of snowflakes, chilling you for 10 damage.

You slam into the tiny snowmen and deal 5 damage before they can fend off the attack.
The tiny snowmen gather around you, beating at your knees for 1 damage.

Two of the little snowmen work together to pick up one of their commrades and throw it at you. It explodes in a flurry of snowflakes, chilling you for 9 damage.

You punch the tiny snowmen, throwing the whole weight of your body behind it and dealing 5 damage.

You take a great leap and tumble to avoid incoming attacks.
The tiny snowmen gather around you, beating at your knees for 2 damage, but you leap nimbly out of the way, avoiding all of the damage.

You lay into the tiny snowmen for 5 damage.
The tiny snowmen pile on you, covering you completely, cutting you off from air and light. Can't breathe… can't breathe… for 15 damage.

You punch the tiny snowmen, throwing the whole weight of your body behind it and dealing 5 damage.

You hammer the tiny snowmen unrelentingly, dealing 5 damage.

All of my melee attacks top out at 5 damage, as does NitroX. Dynamite still does 10 damage though. Nasty little guys!

Also, they got through my containment helmet somehow. Do I need the whole suit for the filter effect?

I also failed to block the "can't breathe" attack, with a frigid scarf.

Etheric attacks get through their defense easily, by the way.

Eating them with unforgiving chill active doesn't do anything different (just frost breath)

full containment suit is enough to allow you to breathe.

Got a new combat message, possibly just for being unopposed to knee beat

The tiny snowmen gather around you, beating at your knees for 7 melee damage. Those little bastards really did a number on your knees. It's going to be hard to walk for a while.

Got 6 energy of Shaking Legs - presumably that was 7 energy before I ended the combat (equal to damage done?)

EDIT: no, confirmed it's not for unopposed. Not sure what else is going on here. I have relatively low stats. Confirmed that damage done = energy gained of Shaking Legs.

You hurl a vial of NitroX at the tiny snowmen. It explodes into a ball of flame, dealing 5 fire damage.
The tiny snowmen gather around you, beating at your knees for 7 melee damage. Those little bastards really did a number on your knees. It's going to be hard to walk for a while.

Good idea, but no — I've gotten the above message 3/3 times they beat me this year.

Maybe a stat thing, then. My knees are fine with 50+ attributes.

Nope. New theory – amount of damage matters. Got shaky legs from 11 damage attack.

Nothing for Everything is So Huge, btw.

Also no hidden "multiple-ness" with NitroX technique.

The Shaking Legs effect seems to depend on the type of pants you have on.

No pants = "Those little bastards".
Waterlogged shorts = "Those little bastards".
Pressed Slacks = "Those little bastards".
Punk pants = safe.
Achromatic pants = safe.

Even with very high or low Melee Defense in other stats. No change with/without Cyberlegs.
