Interesting. This is going to be near obligatory for gang warfare.
I hate this item SO MUCH! I work really hard to get 70+ Etheric Power and now my opponent gets that in one item and is able to use other equipment. And the upgraded form gives etheric defense. Not fair at all.
I have to admit, I did wince on your behalf when I first read this. As a tactic, it's going to be very easy to counter though. Just switch out your deck/outfit for a little bit- anybody relying on this is going to be hopeless against anyone not using an etheric deck/outfit.
Wow. It feels friggin' great to hit for over 100 damage, Erenoth. I can see why you do it.
That said, it does take the offhand slot away from my beloved WWtB or gel shield, not to mention that not everyone is etheric in gang warfare. I think there's at most two chainable etheric techs that work when non-etheric, and neither is spectacularly powerful, so there's that as well. This item does have limitations.

So, take-target's-etheric-power gimmick does NOT affect damage blocked by gem break (and probably Owl's Mask). Kinak says this is intentional. So, gem break and owl's mask is intentionally limited by this item, and you have to supply your own etheric power for the defenses, I believe.

BTW
1) the filling-up counter doesn't zero out when you unequip this (i.e. I filled it by two fights per day and then using a different outfit)
2) filling up message doesn't trigger on being beaten up; presumably you have to win the fight (WTF) to benefit from getting hurt
Evidence seemed to be leaning toward having to take a certain amount of damage in the last round of combat to get the blood to flow, but it looks like that's not the case. Took 8 damage from a horrific spider on the first round of combat, then on the second round it died after only leaping and then moving about on the ceiling. It's the first fight where I've had it happen without taking significant damage on the final round, though, even if I'd taken plenty earlier on. Also the lowest amount of damage I've gotten blood to flow from so far.
Aha! It's so obvious! The other functionality of the goblet of bones! Do you remember? Remember what Zack has revealed? When you put water in the cup, it just disappears!
Sooooo! If one were to take this cup into Lake Metroplex, one would be able to completely drain the lake! Eventually! Oh all the goodies and new adventuring areas that'll be unlocked so exciting!
With Acidic Blood active, I couldn't find any interactions with the goblet. At least nothing special for bleeding into it, and the Pouring Blood message was the same.
