I drank a Ritzy Soda with this effect active, and with 100/100 Energy. I didn't get the message for it, but my stomach kinda…blew up, and I got 20(?) energy of Ruptured Organs. It also removed some Ingestion Effects, but not all (for instance, Fire in your Belly and Terrifying Introspection got removed, but Undersea Stalking and Ancient Resilience did not.

So, beware!

I tried the same thing, and just got the normal message. I had full energy, 17/40 hunger, ~9 body and the following:

I'll try adding some more of the above effects to see if they help.

(Also, the multi-use message for the soda is the same as the single use one.)

You drip… drip… drip the syrup into your mouth. Your heart starts racing, although it's hard to say if that's from the revolting sweetness or the caffeine.

You collapse in crippling pain as your innards rupture.

You take 40 damage.

You've regained all energy!

hp lost coincidentally(?) equaling all the hp I had at the moment.

Curiously, not all effects I had that are flagged as ingestion effects were removed. Such as ancient resilience, burning vision, and muffled sight to name just a few.

That's not even an ingestion effect. Seems odd, but this may just remove effects at random, instead of restricting itself to ingestion.

Podcast 40 hints: confirmed that Fearsome Visage is intended, and will all become clear when we test some more things, and we will laugh maniacally when we figure it out.

Ah hahahaha, yes I am laughing now, it does make sense! Urban Lore is all about urban legends, and your stomach exploding is an urban legend! It removes all 4 fearsome x buffs if you have one. Your stomach doesn't explode if you don't have any of the effects.

(confirmed all four, and that you need one of them for it to work, and that omnicola works too.)

It's more complex than just a category. Fire in Your Belly (unknown duration) got removed when GoldS exploded, but at (2) did not get removed for Arkaim.

Fearsome Sight (5) did not get removed for GoldS, but Fearsome Visage (2) got removed for Arkaim, and Fearsome Strength (10) for Al.

Terrifying Introspection (unknown d) got removed for GoldS, but Numbing Introspection (5) did not get removed for Arkaim. Which implies that's it about fear (and the effect description does say you're nervous)… maybe Al does have it right.

The duration of Ruptured Organs you get is probably equal to the total duration of the effects lost. Arkaim lost exploding candy (20) and fearsome visage (2), to get 22 organ rupture. Al lost exploding candy (20) and fearsome strength (10) to get 30 organ rupture.

I don't know whether this is significant, but Arkaim also got a few buffs of equal duration reordered (assuming he just copypasted):

Maybe there's an (unknown) category of effects it can remove, and it tries to convert them all into ruptured organs, limited by your hunger/body? With an algorithm that can only convert all the duration of an effect at once, and tries to convert as efficiently as possible? I'm not convincing myself.
