Been keeping track of my chance of Etheric Encounters lately, and trying to test which encounters count as "etheric". In particular, I was wondering about things like the twisted hounds on the 4th floor - they show up even when you are not etheric, but are obviously from the etheric realm.
So here's a few encounters from the 4th floor, and I've come across some odd patterns:
With +7 (Massively?) chance of Etheric Encounters:
While Non-etheric:| Encounter | # |
|---|---|
| Twisted Hound (F) | 17 |
| Midgard Scientist (F) | 49 |
| Stairs Down (C) | 21 |
| Stairs Up (C) | 16 |
| Total | 103 |
| Encounter | # |
|---|---|
| Twisted Hound (F) | 18 |
| Writhing Mass (F) | 40 |
| Waterlogged Corpse (C) | 38 |
| Stairs Down (C) | 20 |
| Stairs Up (C) | 19 |
| Total | 135 |
So it looks like the Midgard Scientist fight (which only shows up when you are non-etheric), the Writing Mass fight and the waterlogged corpse choice encounter count as "Etheric Encounters". Very odd.
When I went through and added the
and
icons to the encounter pages, a lot of that was motivated by the chance of Etheric Encounters page, but it seems now that we need an additional indicator to distinguish between encounter types. Anyone have a good idea on how to indicate this in a non-confusing way?
for encounters that count as etheric encounters for chance of encounters.
