Having 20 Evasion Power didn't let me get the flower, nor did 31 (54) Reflexes.

If anyone is wondering if having the bloody shirt and drenched pants equipped triggers anything special here, you can stop.

EDIT: Argeth confirms that boosting your +noncombat or decreasing +combat decreases the amount of gore. Boost nocombat enough and you'll get a feather.

+3? noncombat is enough if you don't have any +combat. If you fail, it gets harder unless you wipe it off.

Without Dripping with Gore

I succeeded with insanely increased non-combats.

Massively increased non-combats are also successful.

Greatly increased non-combats are also successful.

At Majorly increased non-combats, my guy took the whole vase!

Because it's frustrating to work off of incomplete information, I shall log all my stats and modifiers and equipment.

Having the painted parasol and painted dress equipped with Open Parasol in my deck did not change the results of this encounter (with no encounter chance modifiers active). I had been hoping maybe I could deflect the gore with my parasol, but no go.

Nothing for getting this encounter (or the sober version with the pig) with a tome of binding after removing 3 vases. Filling a crapload of empty vases doesn't seem to help either.

Nor for multi-using 5 bloody vases and 5 sloshing vases together.

I was hoping for a new techniques, but I found nothing for hitting this while wearing a very ghoulish outfit, with Ghoul Bite in my deck. I don't have Ghoultouched, though.

I was wearing:

Hat: ghoulish crown
Weapon: ghoul maw
Offhand: hungry doll
Shirt: bloody shirt
Pants: drenched pants
Gadget: mad surgeon's kit
