Hm, I just got this super quickly this run. I'm still in-run, crafted up a functioning PDA to see how Novos plays out.

First hack:

• Password Lock: 1 O
• Class Files: 1 V -> (networking functions)
• Class Files: 1 V -> (networking functions)
• Kicked

Second hack:

• Password Lock: 1 O
• Class Files: 1 V -> (Handscripting)

I guess I'll bug Kinak if this is right - perhaps a counter not being reset correctly?

I think there may be a Perception check or something involved here. I got the message about the files starting to make sense a few times before I learned the skill.

Yeah, good call, perception check makes sense.

Another data point here - took 4 tries to get it with 25(15) perception.

I've gotten 2 snippets of code extracting both from command scripts and filtering scripts. Should it be reasonable to assume that it's true for all programs?

Not in the least. As command and filtering scripts represent the most basic of code. We'd need more data points of such things as secured transmission functions and Novos system updates.

Could this require basic coding? It took me a while to get out of run even with high stats and good gear, but once I got finished cs110 it went pretty fast.

It's not something I paid attention to specifically but I thought maybe one time I got it without simple coding? I'd need like a dedicated couple days just to getting handscripting before I write simple coding as a requirement though.
