Things that did not yield a new technique or variant combat message, with these equipped (with Ocean Sight active):

• using Smoke Talons
• using Distant Claw
• using Fire Serpent
• using Gas Grenade
• using various other assorted Melee. Fire, and Etheric techniques
• doing the above with fireworks shades, a dragon twin statuette, and a smoked firework or Metroplex Day book equipped

Maybe they're just a souvenir? Or perhaps there's a teenaged boy somewhere in the game that you can impress…

Nope probably nothing but another morale boosting souvenir. May as well just leave it to gather dust in your inventory. Nothing to see here move along.
