And I just got:

You queue up a batch for Shared Files containing Fractal Scan, another Fractal Scan, a third Fractal Scan, and Fractal Shield.

You run an in-depth search over the whole index of results. It takes some time, but you get back some interesting hits.

You dig until you find a set of short films, apparently long-forgetten and transferred over from older hardware. They're definitely low budget, either students or some sort of public access.

The whole thing focuses on a masked vigilante with no name and his quarreling sidekicks, Watson and the Hammer. That… sounds eerily familiar.

The notes on one of the files suggest a specific time signature. Checking it out, you find a scene of the actors beating up a filthy man… who doesn't seem to be acting.

You learn a thing or two about uncessary brutality.

Shared files is inconsistent about whether you have to index them first or not. Sometimes I get the "reindex" message for a site I've never seen before, and sometimes it indexes them normally.

I had hypothesized that there are groups of sites which all share the same set of files between them, and that indexing any of those sites would index them all. But now I just thought of an even better idea- I wonder if they are shared between players? So as long as any one player has indexed the files on that site, they'll be indexed for everyone.

Might be a bit tricky to set up to test that, but should be doable I think.

With Idiotic Deaths and Shrug off your Chains I got this one (in case that matters):

The files you can find are just people sharing embarrassing incidents back and forth, mostly about drunken fights. Any fighting is technically illegal, but these look more likely to draw laughs than law enforcement.

You can't help but feel a little superior.

Also, got this from The Black Comm's Shared Files:

With some digging, you find a set of files about securing Novos sites. It uses some live examples, including an active link to Davey Jackson's Final Call Getaway.

In the net site list, the source for Davey Jackson's Final Call Getaway is listed as "Judged Insecure". Was a PL-SF/PA/SE-PI WE/G with wave lights on the shared files.

I just got this message:

You find some results from lab experiments you don't think were authorized by the school. One looks interesting enough it might be worth repeating.

The system's automated defenses follow your tracks, increasing the Alert by 6. Without the way you slipped through the system, that could easily have been 1 alert worse.

Your connection flickers for a moment, then goes dead. Well, looks like it finally managed to block you.

You've learned a new armory recipe: Frag Grenade - Add Polysteel shrapnel to an Unmarked Grenade

This is after getting the "you already know what's going to happen" message half a dozen times.

I just found Promo Codes and a Cracked Sample Track on the same site, which seems to call the categories into question; looks like Al also found Promo Codes mixed with other stuff—do we think Cheaters/Music sharers/Promo Code sharers are all part of a "Pirate" category or the like?

The shared files of sneaking into the art museum do not appear to give anything special while etheric.

You run an in-depth search over the whole index of results. It takes some time, but you get back some interesting hits.

It seems Rose Edwards's friends have made a game of sneaking into the art museum after hours and popping Eclipse, then seeing how long they can stand to stay. There are dozens of videos to that extent, so you queue one up to see what's gotten them so riled.

The video moves through the museum, finally stopping to gaze lovingly at a painting showing a woman under a parasol. The cameraperson stands there motionless for what seems like ages, until the hand on the camera grows unsteady and it falls to the ground.

The videos are all pretty intense, but the same people seem to keep going back.
