I got 1 instance of this technique on 8 Oct 2013, the day it came out. I have been using rifles on and off since then and have not gotten a single other instance until tonight (52 days later!).

Hat: festive knit hat
Weapon: achromatic rifle
Offhand: heavy riot shield
Shirt: dual armored vest
Pants: achromatic slacks
Gadget: black tablet shard

The only round of the fight:

You dodge away from the lake serpent, but still present a relatively easy target.
The lake serpent lurks under water, waiting for an opening.

You catch her with an explosive round. It deals 23 damage.
The lake serpent slams her tail down on you dealing 2 damage.

You slot a long clip and fire a stream of ammunition into the lake serpent, emptying the clip in a single wild spray. She takes 38 damage.

You compensate for your automatic fire, continuing the tight stream of bullets hammering into the lake serpent for 51 damage.

Got this on the first time I used clustered shot -

You fail to imitate the smooth firing of a needler. You do still succeed in shooting the lake serpent for 21 damage.
The lake serpent slams her tail down on you dealing 1 damage.

You compensate for your automatic fire, continuing the tight stream of bullets hammering into the lake serpent for 39 damage.

You've won the battle!

You learned a new Technique: Continuing Fire

Also - moved the following off the main page and on to discussion since it's speculatory.

??? (seems to be a random chance of appearing if you have an automatic weapon equipped and use Full Auto - Clustered Shot in a battle)
DATA:
fight against midgard security in warehouse, with an MK9 equipped, doing a full auto - clustered shot chain, but couldn't get another instance
Fight against spectral sailors on the ghost ship, Modern Assault Rifle equipped. Chains were Silver Bullets - Full Auto - Clustered Shot

Something odd going on here.

These fights are all against the spearwoman/memorial statue, who all have 10 defense.

• With needler, following a burst = 5-10 damage with 5 RP = 10 base power
• With needler, as opener = 3-6 damage with 5 RP = 8 base power
• With needler, following non-burst = 5-10 damage with 9 RP = 6 base power

The latter two give the exact same message but different base powers. Also, it seems narratively odd that continuing fire gets an opening bonus. I have Sniper but low stealth power. Am I overlooking anything else?
