In a note I should have made on the podcast, Lyz and I will be going to Washington, DC next week. If anybody's out there that wants to hang, let me know; otherwise, give me suggestions for where I should go.
Plan A is to spend the whole time in various museums, but we could spend a whole week in the Smithsonian without seeing everything, so…
Incidentally, I randomly found this video a week or so before the metal stuff came out, and never made the connection until you mentioned it on podcast. (I'm kind of indifferent to the first half of the song, but that is a darn catchy chorus.)
I should say that my amusement should in no way be taken as an endorsement of their music or the idol system :)
My favorite part is actually if you read more into the band that none of them like metal or were even really exposed to it before now. It's basically just a management decision to give them a gimmick. Which is when it moved from "interesting thing Japan is trying out" to "must Zaibatsu."
