I have listened to the entire podcast and, Kinak, I have made an easy User Guide for you on the explanation of 'Striking the hand!' If you remember, I mentioned this when asking about the Serpent of the Earth and you were confused by what exactly I was talking about.
As opposed to 'Do Nothing' which does not confuse the Earth Serpent at all! Very peculiar.
To restate my question I was wondering if this was hinting at some sort of puzzle with the earth serpent.

I ask about if anything was added after the fact for the scary storybook because the rag man's cape does have an interaction and that was released 3 weeks after that halloween. Just good planning ahead then?
Is the other reason Leandra Silver is relevant because she owned all the antique floor mirrors? Not mentioned by name but that Rachel story came out at the same time that Zack was talking about a rich old lady that died. Or something else?
Re: Arkaim's serpent question, I think he was asking about the Stone Volley technique, which does nothing if unopposed (but the serpent only uses it the first pass of combat, so this only comes up if you skip your attack entirely). EDIT: which Arkaim just detailed above while I was typing this. (It does kind of seem like the Do Nothing technique should count as unopposed, though that may lead to complications if you chain a technique 4 to chain 6 via a Do Nothing.)

Hm, and on the topic of stun resistance…it's kind of a weird one. Stunning can come from all kinds of narratively disparate sources (electricity, flying through the air, bat wings, staring pinatas, etc.) so not exactly sure how a universal resistance to all that works. (Though anything is possible with Eclipse.)
(I looked into figuring out the exact mechanics for stun resistance a while back but kind of gave up because of the lack of explicit feedback.)
I do sometimes think about how there are abilities which do damage, and then stats which reduce damage, (and stats which reduce large damage,) and abilities which reduce damage, and then stats which reduce abilities which reduce damage, and then abilities which negate abilities which reduce damage, and then abilities which avoid damage…maybe we also don't also need stats which avoid abilities which avoid damage. Kind of a spading nightmare. :)
I kind of wonder if it would make more sense for stun resistance to be more "flag based", kind of like how acid works (some opponents avoid it if aquatic, some opponents are vulnerable with writhing flesh)?
- Electricity-based stuns (Live Wire, Jacob's Ladder, Tesla Coil, Melee vs. Energized Serpent) are avoided if you have the resists_electricity flag, which seems that it would be easy to give a specific message comparable to the "acid washes away before it can have any effect" message. Hanging Wires or certain other opponents would be inherently 100% resistant?
- Flying through the air stuns (Wild Kick, Horn Hoist, Powerful Tail Strike, Stomp) are perhaps avoided by extra heavy opponents, or hooked cyberlegs.
- The Transfixing Gaze of the pinata is already avoidable with appropriate headgear.
(In the above scheme, the charged golem heart would give a hidden resists_electricity flag when equipped?)
Also: bat resistance.
Yeah, a more… systematic approach to stun resistance would probably be appropriate. Some stuff like that already exists, actually. But more is always better.
