Start
Go to the University to check on Dr. Amundsen - she's missing. Tell Lo about this and he'll ask you to check up on his colleague David to make sure he's okay. You can either send him in or go look for David yourself.
Outline
There are two ways to complete this quest:
Infiltrating abandoned building
- Head to the Abandoned Building in Southside.
- You must get past four groups of three Third Eye Gangers each. If your combat skills are good you can take them on directly, or as an alternative you can use some tricks:
- For the one involving a grenade, have a gas grenades in inventory.
- For the one with wires and water, get an electrical kit (doesn't need to be equipped).
- For the one where they are complaining about their job, give them 150 credits.
- For the one where they're complaining about their replacement, wear a Third Eye Shirt.
- Adventure until you get the Beaten Man adventure. You can jump right in and fight Shard with two guards, or try to lure the guards away first to make the Shard fight easier. Be warned however, you only get ONE chance at beating Shard - if you lose or run away, he will kill David (and Lo if you sent him in as well).
Hostage negotiation
- Get Hawk to look into releasing the hostages.
Rewards
- Gain David as a contact.

After visiting the Abandoned Building
You've been to the Abandoned Building in Southside to check after Lo's colleague, but the whole place is swarming with thugs. You're going to have to think outside the box or pack a lot of heat to get rid of these guys.
After talking to Hawk about David's release
It sounds like Hawk might be able to get David released if you can get him a replacement supply of Eclipse.
