Encounter Conditions

Only during Halloween 2010, after getting the Crate Status noncombat

Initial Text

Near the southern edge of the Quad, you find a massive pile of crates. A quick inspection reveals that they're for the Halloween festivities gearing up at the Dorms.

Ah, this must be what all those fundraising buckets they're selling are for. They certainly managed to get a lot of crates with them.

It's harder to guess why they skimped on delivery, though. The dorms are clear across the Quad. At least it's not the museum, but still.

Summary of Choices

  1. Help move them - Gain 5 XP in Strength
  2. Steal some - Gain 3 of thick cabling, polysteel, paper mache
  3. Destroy them - Gain 3 XP in Strength
  4. Search them - Gain 4 XP in Perception, or 3 XP in Perception and 16-18 Eclipse
  5. Add a handful of Eclipse -

Choice Text and Results

Help move them

You haul the crates one by one over to the dorms. Damn, that takes a lot out of you.

Somebody else can take those downstairs. You're cashed.

Hey, these crates are filled with all sorts of exciting stuff. You've got polysteel pellets, paper mache (the craft store kind), and even some electrical wiring.

On second thought, it's not really that exciting. You grab a couple things off the top and slip away before anyone notices, though.

Hmmmm, looks like you're not the first one to have that idea. You end up getting the dregs of the crate, skimming more off the bottom than the top.

Destroy them

You break apart the crate and scatter its contents over the Quad. That'll teach 'em to clean up after a riot.

Hmmm, you actually don't find much, just the building supplies you'd expect. It's always best to check, though.

You mix a handful of Eclipse in with the polysteel pellets. They're about the same size, so nobody will find them unless they're really looking.
