Outline

Overview

Your goal is to infiltrate the top Executive Floor of Midgard HQ. The Midgard HQ building can be entered via the Parking Garage or through the main HQ Lobby. There are many paths to navigate the building.

Hel

On the Executive Floor, get Special Projects records for Hel:

• Fight and cause disruptions until the containment burner combat shows up. Win fight.
• Continue adventuring until the double containment burner "squad sweeping the area" combat shows up.
• Defeat them to get containment procedures to learn about factory B3. Show them to Hel.

Lo

On the Executive Floor, find some samples for Lo:

• Access the hidden part of the floor, pass the Facial Recognition Scanner and find the Claustrophobic Hive of Computers.
• Check the fridge multiple times to acquire 4-6 lotus samples.
• Use a protein analyzer to analyze a few lotus samples until you find one from the factory B3.

David

On the Executive Floor, find the "genius loci" of Midgard HQ for David:

• Find the Room at the End of the Tunnel:
• Learn Childish Sketch by taking notes while Etheric (some condition to unlock here??).
• Ask the Executive Misty Apparition twice about questions.
  • (what happens if she is viney?)

Dr. Amundsen

On the Executive Floor, Find XGangleri for Dr. Amundsen:

• Find the Claustrophobic Hive of Computers and hack the Executive Servers:
  • Check the Special Projects Files
  • Or: Check the Employee Data (or Shared Calendar?) then confront him in the Room at the End of the Tunnel.

HQ Building navigation

• Freight elevator will take you from Parking Garage to Maintenance Storage (once fixed).

• Lobby stairs will take you from Parking Garage to Lobby.
  • Security guard will also escort you to Lobby in some conditions.

• Heating ducts will take you from Maintenance Storage to:
  • Lobby
  • Call Center

• Midgard HQ Elevator will take you to various floors automatically, depending on ID badge equipped:
  • Maintenance Storage (Janitor ID)
  • Lobby (various)
  • Call Center (Manager ID/Call Center ID)
  • Executive Floor (Executive ID)

• The ghost train will take you from Call Center and back, once fixed:
  • Maintenance Storage
  • Executive Floor

Parking Garage navigation

• Lobby Stairwell — access to Lobby after some time? (x turns spent or garage exploration?)
• Get Inside — with HQ Alarm ≥ 1 and any downtown ID badge equipped.

Freight Elevator Repair

Find the elevator

• Need 10 parking garage exploration points:
  • Lonely Garage +1 point, or, with Help From The Family quest, +? points
  • Mushroom Forest of the Garage: Follow the lights: some exploration?

Fix elevator

• Call Grigori:
  • Complete Help From The Family.
  • Talk to Grigori about Midgard HQ.
  • Chained Freight Elevator: Call Grigori: Unlocks and fixes elevator.

or, do both of:

• Unlock the Chained Freight Elevator:
  • Shoot (with automatic weapon and Clustered Shot)
  • Hammer (with hammer weapon)
  • Pry (with crowbar weapon)
  • Use 5 Powerful Acid
  • Use 1 Aqua Regia

• Fix the Unchained Freight Elevator:
  • Check the situation - learn Elevator Controls recipe: two Signal Analysis Circuits, some Thick Cabling, and a Large Motor. Craft and replace the Elevator Controls to fix elevator.
  • Or: Craft and install a cabling nest.
  • Or: Equip a PDA and functionality interface or spectrum command script to start the backup motor.

Either way, once the elevator is fixed:

• Take Working Freight Elevator/Viny Freight Elevator to Maintenance Storage.

Maintenance Storage

• You can climb the vents of the Behemoth Furnace.
  • Turn down the heat (x3), or have sufficient Fire Defense.
  • Climb once to get out to the lobby.
  • Climb further and fight Duct Drone/Duct Spider to get out at the Call Center.

Call Center

Access

• Crawl through the vents from Maintenance Storage (turn down heat and fight Duct Spider/Duct Drone).
• Take elevator:
  • Parking Garage's Came To The Wrong Neighborhood can give call center ID through intimidation or combat.
  • A Midgard Manager in the Old Cathedral can give a downtown manager ID for Call Center access once you access the elevator.

Aquire Executive ID

• Gain access to the Director's Office:
  • Locate the office by:
    • Talking to the Broad Chested Headset Man dressed as a janitor.
    • Or, hack the Call Center Computer's Sales Assistant program.
  • Break through, trick the scanner with electrical kit, or swipe a downtown manager ID.
• Get a downtown executive ID by one of:
  • Call the Ghosts (complete Ghostly Aid quest) in the office.
  • Or, hack the Management Desktop in the office and schedule a meeting with the executive:
    • Then pickpocket ID or do a very hard fight with Assistant Vice President (male)

Executive Floor

Elevator checkpoint

• Requires a downtown executive ID

Learn about Wojcik

• Pickpocket or fight the Fashionable Exec to gain downtown visitor ID.
• In the Old Cathedral, talk to the Professionally Dressed Man:
  • First talk about work in the Priest Outfit to learn about Eurasia.
  • Then talk about Eurasia in the Office Worker Outfit to learn the name Wojcik.
• Mingle with the Fashionable Exec to learn more about Wojcik.
• Take the elevator to the Executive Floor and use the visitor badge + knowledge of Wojcik to get in.

Pay 500

• Pickpocket the Fashionable Exec for fast credits, or there are many other sources of credits.

Get past the Three-Sided Floor

To unlock the rest of the floor you need to do one of:

• Explore the offices enough to get the Three-Sided Floor encounter, contact Hawk after completing Third Eye's Aid quest, then meditate in the Executive Offices.
• Fight or tear things down in the Executive Offices encounter enough to get the Taped-Together Office non-combat encounter.
• Impress the Executive Misty Apparition with an appropriate dance effect or song.
• Infect the office with vines and demand passage of the Thorny Misty Apparition.

Bypass Facial Recognition Scanner

• Electrical kit + optical array.
• Crowbar, hammer or I-beam - repeated tries.

Help from the locals

Note: The Families and Third Eye cannot both help.

Ghosts

Complete the Ghostly Aid quest. In the Call Center's Director's office, the Ghosts will give you a downtown executive ID.

Families

Complete the Help From The Family quest. Talk to Grigori about downtown and he will help unlock the Chained Freight Elevator in the Parking Garage.

Third Eye

Complete the Third Eye's Aid quest. On the Three-Sided Floor, there is an option to contact Hawk. This lets you meditate in the Executive Offices to get access to the rest of the floor.

Yakuza

Complete the Yakuza Job quest, then talk to Sato. Once you give him 3 items he will agree to help with Midgard Tower. If the Executive Alert gets too high, the Yakuza will cause a distraction.

Rewards

• On completion, you move on to the Project Valkyrie quest outside of Metroplex City limits.

Starting quest

With Dr. Amundsen:
You and Dr. Amundsen found a data trail leading back to someone codenamed XGangleri, who she believes works at Midgard Headquarters Downtown.

With David:
David has suggested questioning the genius loci, the spirit of Metroplex or at least Midgard's headquarters Downtown.

With Hel:
Hel believes someone at Midgard Headquarters in Downtown Metroplex is responsible for the increased level of Eclipse-like pollutants. She'd like you to find out who.

With Lo:
Lo has asked you to investigate Midgard Headquarters Downtown.

And for all the above:
But first, you should probably find some local allies to help with the investigation.

After repairing the Unchained Freight Elevator:
You've gotten an old freight elevator working from the parking garage to a storage level.

After completing Ghostly Aid:
You've received promises of aid from the Ghosts.

After completing Help From The Family:
You've received promises of aid from the Families.

After completing Third Eye's Aid:
You've received promises of aid from the Third Eye.

After doing the Yakuza Job and then helping Sato:
You've received promises of aid from the Yakuza.

After completing your contact's task in Midgard HQ, but before speaking to them about it, first line changes to:

With Dr. Amundsen:
You spoke to the executive and he warned you of a group within Special Projects. Although outside the city itself, they seem to have tremendous sway. Doctor Amundsen might know more.

With David:
After speaking to the genius loci of Midgard HQ, you've learned others like you have gathered at a factory outside of Metroplex. This might be the sort of thing David was looking for.

With Hel:
???

With Lo, after protein analyzing a lotus sample:
You've been running some tests on flowers in Midgard HQ that seem related to the seeds you found in Oldtown. They seem to vary by location, however, so you'll need to examine more samples to suss out the pattern.

With Lo, after learning about factory B3:
The most striking flowers you examined, rather than being from a foreign land or the Slags, are actually from a factory outside of town. Lo might have an explanation.

Finished quest:

With Dr. Amundsen:
Your hacking uncovered a conspiracy within Midgard, apparently based at an old factory beyond Metroplex.

With David:
You spoke to the genius loci of Midgard HQ and learned of others like yourself outside Metroplex.

With Hel:
You uncovered the location of a thoroughly contaminated area outside Metroplex proper.

With Lo:
You learned where the best lotuses are grown: at a factory outside Metroplex.
