Choice Text and Results
Ask about the vault
"Sure," you hear the voice behind his mask, "let me show you around."
He leads you into the stacks, pointing out some of the subtle distinctions between different areas. It should help prevent you from getting lost so easily down here.
You've earned 4 XP in Perception
Or, at high alert?
"Sure," you hear the voice behind his mask, "let me show you around."
He leads you directly into another guard, both of whom lay into you.
(Fight 2 Midgard Heavy Guard (Unarmed))
Ask what monitor
He stops for a moment. "Nothing, I guess. Forget I mentioned anything."
As you head off, you hear him talking to someone in hushed tones.
Raises alert?
Ask about differentiation
He pushes a hiss of breath through his mask. "We'd like to know too. It'd be awesome to join some of the specialized teams but everybody on those teams has low cell-diff. And what the hell is cell-diff?"
Or, if Thrivaldi is dead:
He pushes a hiss of breath through his mask. "We'd all like to know. Everybody wants to join those teams, especially with Thrivaldi's spot opening up, but the people on those teams all have low cell-diff. And what the hell is cell-diff?"He continues without waiting for you to illuminate him. "No idea. We've got some medical records from folks with low cell-diff back in the break room, but the only trick is it seems to have something to do with the Slags."
Unlock the option to look for differentiation papers in the Hidden Break Room
Join his patrol
As you make your way through the stacks, he points out an older woman shelving files.
"There's our worker." You can hear a bit of a smile in his voice.
"Yeah, there's just the one that's down here full time, except for us. You'd think they'd automate it all, but corporate's even more afraid of computers than people."
You've earned 2 XP in Perception
Or:
You follow him for a while through the stacks, passing by an improvised break room nestled between the back surfaces of several book cases. He jabs his thumb towards it, "only important room down here."
You've earned 2 XP in Perception
(Unlocks Hidden Break Room?)
Or:
You make your way through the stacks. At some point, he gestures off to the right, towards a sleeping computer. "They think they're going to digitize all of this," he waves an arm to indicate the stacks you're wandering between "with one worker."
You've earned 2 XP in Perception
(Unlocks Sleeping Vault Terminal?)
Or, if you have salvaged the computer today:
You make your way through the stacks. At some point, he stops you in front of a gutted computer.
"Huh… we'd better call this one in, get some poor IT guy authorized to come down here."
You've earned 2 XP in Perception
Or:
As you follow him through the stacks he gestures to one side. "Seed storage, probably all Ag Products."
The storage is impressive with a massive wall of refrigerators efficient enough so that it's only a little chilly walking by them.
You've earned 2 XP in Perception
(Unlocks Cold Storage?)
Or:
As you make your way through the stacks, he gestures at a small niche along one wall. Behind the glass, you can see a human skull, carved with symbol for Eclipse on its forehead.
He shrugs. "Everybody thinks we've got all sorts of freaky stuff down here, but really that's it."
You've earned 2 XP in Perception
(Unlocks Skull in the Niche/Floating Skull in the Niche?)
Or:
You follow him for a while through the stacks, seeing nothing but endless rows of manila folders and dust-frosted files.
You've earned 2 XP in Perception
Jump him
You jump in before he can get his fists up, but unfortunately his armor is just as solid as you'd expect.
(Fight Midgard Heavy Guard (Unarmed))
Make excuses
You mumble something about maintenance and make your way into the stacks. As you walk away, you can hear him saying something into a comm.
