Improvised Armor

If it's needed in your patrol or ambush, you can construct temporary armor from the scraps of civilization and resources provided by your gang. The armor you create is tuned to the intruder's capacities, so you may not need it (and save the resources).

In combat:

He is piecing together some armor as you approach. It looks like garbage, but might serve to block an attack or two.

or, if deemed unnecessary:

[I forget the message, but it's something like "He is piecing together some garbage but doesn't have time to finish]

Inbox text:

You built some improvised armor before combat.

or, if deemed unnecessary:

You considered some improvised armor, but it wouldn't help this combat.
