Incredibly Abused Pants

Description	These all-weather pants obviously have some sort of story behind them. There are cuts in the fabric and more blood than will ever wash out, but it looks more like someone was cutting strips out for something and the blood looks more like someone waded through the stuff. But the cuffs take the cake, having burnt off a little above the ankle. However the previous owner ended their life, you can't imagine their feet were in very good shape.

Uses

Defeating certain Human opponents (Needs more spading: Third Eye Ganger and Midgard Security don't seem to count) with the pants equipped sometimes gives a special message after combat. It is not necessary to be Etheric to get these messages. These messages indicate that the pants are "charging". Getting enough messages unlocks special techniques.

The first time you do, you get one of the following messages, depending on where you are:

Outdoors:
A frigid wind whistles past you, momentarily distracting you from your hunger.

Indoors:
A frigid wind whistles outside the building, momentarily distracting you from your hunger.

Underground:
A distant wind whistles on the surface, momentarily distracting you from your hunger.

If you have already gotten one of the above messages, defeating a Human opponent in a fight where you used any eating technique gives this message:

The cold winds wrap around you, embracing you and your prey.

Possible non-combats (what unlocks these? — the pants are not (always?) required to be equipped):

The cold wind returns and, with it, unseasonable snow. You wander for what feels like hours, lost and hungry.

You learned a new Technique: Ghoul Bite

The cold wind returns and, with it, unseasonable snow. You wander for what feels like hours, following tracks through the fresh powder.

You learned a new Technique: Stalk through Snow (sometimes)

You've earned 0-4? XP in Perception

The cold wind returns and, with it, unseasonable snow. You can feel something in the distance, stalking you through the snow.

You manage to stay a step ahead, but only a step, running faster and faster until flames lift you from the snow and into the unforgiving sky.

You snap out of the trance later with a fresh set of burns along the cuffs of your pants.

You learned a new Technique: Fire Run

You've earned 1-2? XP in Will

Note: During the annual Christmas snowman competitions, the word 'unseasonable' is dropped from the above messages.
