Encounter Conditions

Alternates with Scattered Pile of Crates, if you rearrange the crates.

Initial Text

Wandering through the pages, you find a sketch of the hero encountering a massive pile of crates. They seem fairly inoffensive, unlike the rest of the sketches.

It's actually almost eerie seeing such a normal scene interspersed with the rest of the book's contents.

Look for a view in the crates

You flip through the sketchbook, eventually finding a drawing of the hero trying to pry open the bottom crate of the stack. It doesn't entirely surprise you that the next page shows the entire pile collapsing on him, crushing him into a bloody pulp.

What does surprise you, at least a little bit, is blacking out and realizing your limbs are bent at uncomfortable angles when you come to.

Lose all hit points.

You've gained 10 energy of Broken Bone.

See if the hero moves them

Within a few pages, you find a sketch of the hero scattering the crates. The eighteen crates carve out patterns in the dust suggesting a massive eye.

The hero probably would've gotten quite a workout. Whether the burning in your arms is just sympathy pain is another question.

Search for an image from atop the crates

A set of careful sketches detail the hero crawling atop the pile of crates, then looking out over the contents of the building. Countless hooked chains hang, from a ceiling shrouded in darkness.

Many of those chains suspend slabs of meat that crawl with massive maggot-like creatures. The amount of details in the pictures is astonishing. So much so that wonder at the craftsmanship almost overwhelms the intended nausea.
