Choice Text and Results

Trap the light (evil)

Without preamble, you slip the urn from behind your back and trap the floating creature. It must not have been expecting any violence, because it hung there in shock rather than even moving out of the way.

Hmmm. During the excitement, the child vanished. You glance over the rest of the cave, finding no trace.

You found: ringing urn

Give it the royal orb (only with the royal orb in your inventory)

You kneel and present the orb. The light flicks down, passing through the orb and… consuming it is the only way you can begin to describe what happens.

"Very good. You have proven your worth. May the blessing of the Eldest be upon you."

You've learned a new Skill: Subterranean Rhythm

Or, if you have the Warrior of the Seas skill (does not consume your royal orb):

The child rocks back. "I don't doubt your valor, but you've been tainted by that… thing and the truths in it. Take it from our sight."

When you put it away she nods. "Thank you for slaying one of our most stalwart enemies."

Ask David's question

She shakes her head slowly. "You're a fool who would threaten my reign and I am a fool for listening to you."

"But there are other threats. Our servants are restless and the scaled ones steal us away with their urns. Solve both of these and I will gladly tell you what you wish."

The light above her flutters in agitation. "There is a pool in the grove below this cave leading to the scaled ones' abode. Take this if you wish to breathe or navigate the tunnel."

She hands you a test tube filled with clear liquid. "If you need more, dissolve some of the round mushrooms my servants love so much in some acid. It's simple enough this body can do it, I'm sure you're up to the task."

You found: draught of breath

You've learned a new quest recipe: Draught Of Breath - Condense two Fragile Puffballs using some Powerful Acid

(Before making any progress with his demands)

The child looks at you with a blank face, but the light above her darts rapidly, each shift of direction matched by a pure chiming note

She smiles predatorily. "It would seem you've yet to begin your holy mission to bring our servants back into the fold and the situation in the seas hasn't made much progress. I trust this will change."

(after killing ancient shroom)

The child looks at you with a blank face, but the light above her darts rapidly, each shift of direction matched by a pure chiming note.

She smiles predatorily. "It would seem you've secured our servants' cooperation but you should keep your eyes on the real threat, the one in the seas, as well."

(After smashing all the urns or killing the Ocean King)

The child looks at you with a blank face, but the light above her darts rapidly, each shift of direction matched by a pure chiming note.

She smiles predatorily. "It would seem you've… begun to earn our servants' trust, but you've already beaten back our enemies under the sea."

(After crushing the fae plushes OR helping the mushroom farming a while?)

The child looks at you with a blank face, but the light above her darts rapidly, each shift of direction matched by a pure chiming note

She smiles predatorily. "It would seem you've… begun to earn our servants' trust and the situation in the seas hasn't made much progress. I trust this will change."

(Some conditions?)

The child looks at you with a blank face, but the light above her darts rapidly, each shift of direction matched by a pure chiming note.

She smiles predatorily. "It would seem you've already made some progress reminding our servants of their place and you're destroying the urns. Good, good."

(After getting the above result, and then smashing all the remaining urns)

The child looks at you with a blank face, but the light above her darts rapidly, each shift of direction matched by a pure chiming note.

She smiles predatorily. "It would seem you've already made some progress reminding our servants of their place and you've staved off our enemies under the sea."

(After killing a mushroom warrior, and smashing all the remaining urns)

The child looks at you with a blank face, but the light above her darts rapidly, each shift of direction matched by a pure chiming note.

She smiles predatorily. "It would seem you've taken the fight to our rebels and you've staved off our enemies under the sea."

(After killing 3? mushroom warriors, and smashing all the remaining urns)

The child looks at you with a blank face, but the light above her darts rapidly, each shift of direction matched by a pure chiming note.

She smiles predatorily. "It would seem you've chewed through our rebels like the mongrels they revere so much and you've staved off our enemies under the sea."

(After killing the Ancient Shroom and smashing all the urns)

"Very well," the little girl sighs. "Let's be thorough then, have a seat." She flips her wrist at a nearby rock. "You do like seats, yes?"

You take a seat so she'll finally start talking. "As I said, this is dangerous information. It will put you in danger as it would have put him in danger."

"Many years ago, he… David, if you like… Baldur, if you like… Father, if you like… he Saw. He was not the last, but we believe he was the first to See."

She shudders and the light bobs around her, almost as though to remind you of its presence. "When you See, really See, it outlives your vision. We are the Eldest. We've watched the newer Seen crawl about in their flesh and chaos and barbarism."

She shakes her head. "Perhaps I should never have told you… who can say what he might do… be capable of. What he might See."

Stay to chat

The child shakes her head. "Neither I nor this body has anything in common with you. You are unbound, yet cling to your chains. You could fly, yet you walk."

She shakes her head and clucks her tongue quietly, a strange counterpoint to the light's chiming movements. "We will never understand each other."

Leave

(With Fae Blessing?)

You turn your back on her and navigate your way back down the mushrooms. Well, now you don't have to talk to her and you get to bounce-slide your way back down.
