Complete the Slags Quest to rescue Hel.
Talk to her to start The Survivors quest.
Talk to Lo (must be alive).
Outline
- Gain access to the VIP Room by dealing with The Protest.
- Talk to the Eurasian arms dealer in the VIP room:
- You can pay him 500 credits directly.
- Alternatively, you can go to the tainted shoreline to recover a deteriorating shipment:
- Lungs of Lead - Equip a containment suit and have Ocean Eyes.
- Or Lungs of Lead - Equip a containment suit without Ocean Eyes (fight 2 writhing masses).
- Or Lungs of Lead - Equip a fishing pole and use the high test fishing line to fish it up.
- Or Underwater Crate - See David's Exploration for how to get in the lake.
- (If you open the crate, you have to pay the 500 credits anyway, but get a decent weapon.)
- Return the crate to the arms dealer to learn that the parts you need are in the Midgard Warehouse.
- Adventure in the Midgard Warehouse:
-
- Acquire a warehouse inventory, either from the workers or from the Ocean's Inventory adventure.
- Use the warehouse inventory to discover where the chamber is stored.
- Find the Stacks of Crates and uncover the incomplete chamber, OR (if etheric) win a fight against the three trash golems who drop it
- Find the catwalk above the warehouse.
- Break into the office using any one of the following methods:
- Hammer on the door with The Hammer's Sledge (Fight 2 Midgard Security).
- Toss some Nitro (Fight 2 Midgard Security)
- Toss some NitroX (Take some damage).
- Equip an Electrical kit, a frayed cable and a signal analysis circuit, and inspect the lock.
- Try opening the door with a warehouse security badge.
- Find the Warehouse Supervisor and fight or steal her ID.
- Swipe it at the door again.
- Learn the vault password by doing one of the following:
- Equip a PDA and hack into the Warehouse Computer.
- Elevate privileges to Level 1 and view the public calendar.
- Or, look through the desk calendar in the office multiple times.
- Optionally, talk to the Workers on break while wearing a Midgard Cap to learn the supervisor's kid's name.
- Equip a PDA and hack into the Warehouse Computer.
- Enter the appropriate birthday on the keypad hidden on the office wall, as outlined here, to get the unstable emitter.
-
- Acquire Salvaging Tools:
- Complete The Lost Son quest. You don't have to save the son but don't tell the Squatter King that you killed his son (either save him for real or tell a convenient lie). However, if you did tell the Squatter King you can still get the salvaging tools with the additional steps:
- Make sure to have acquired both the incomplete chamber and unstable emitter.
- Ask the Eurasian Arms Dealer about 'How's the analyzer work?' to unlock the Squatters' Refuge area.
- At the Squatter King's Door, you can gain entry by fighting him or gassing him with 5 gas grenades.
- Find the Abandoned Refuge after some time(?) and gain salvaging tools.
- Complete The Lost Son quest. You don't have to save the son but don't tell the Squatter King that you killed his son (either save him for real or tell a convenient lie). However, if you did tell the Squatter King you can still get the salvaging tools with the additional steps:
- Acquire a utility blowtorch (for 200 credits at the VIP room)
- Acquire an electrical kit
- Acquire the following items:
- Magnetic Coil: recipe from Electrical Engineering III using a capacitor array and two thick cabling.
- Thick cabling: recipe from Electrical Engineering I or drops (various locations).
- Capacitor arrays: recipe from Electrical Engineering I or Neglected Bookshelf, or drops.
- Steel Ingot: salvage various items such as a anchor chain.
- Metallic Powder or Lead: salvage heavy containment suit parts, prototype vest, lead pipe, etc.
- Thick Cabling: recipe from Electrical Engineering I or drops (various locations).
- Processor Chip: recipe from Neglected Bookshelf or from salvaging various PDAs.
- Magnetic Coil: recipe from Electrical Engineering III using a capacitor array and two thick cabling.
- Combine all the above to make a Protein Analyzer.
- Install the analyzer in your apartment in southside.
- Craft some liquified eclipse and run it through the analyzer.
- Give the resulting eclipse residue to Lo and ask him about it.
- Get a Myers Sampling Kit if you haven't before.
- Acquire four of these items through protein analysis (most from items obtained with a Myers sampling kit) and give them to Lo:
- charred blob, from larval acid
- fine hound dust, from crystal spike, hound crystal, hound dust,
- ghoul protein, from ghoul teeth
- ink extract, from kraken ink, octopus ink
- protein database, from lake serpent sample, loose scales, serpent venom gland

Quest Log
Starting quest
Lo has asked you to acquire a protein analyzer to study the circumstances surrounding Eclipse. The only person Lo knew who might be able to get that without Midgard noticing is an old arms dealer who apparently spends his time in the back room of the Happy Hour.
After talking to the Eurasian arms dealer in the VIP Room, and agree to finding his lost shipment
Lo has asked you to acquire a protein analyzer to study the circumstances surrounding Eclipse. The arms dealer who seems like your best lead has asked you to retrieve a shipment from the shallows of Lake Metroplex, near the Slags.
After acquiring a deteriorating shipment
Lo has asked you to acquire a protein analyzer to study the circumstances surrounding Eclipse. The arms dealer who seems like your best lead has asked you to retrieve a shipment from the shallows of Lake Metroplex, near the Slags.
Luckily, you have the crate and just need to take it back to him at the VIP Room in the Happy Hour.
After the Arms Dealer tells you where the parts are
Lo has asked you to acquire a protein analyzer to study the circumstances surrounding Eclipse. You know both halves, the emitter and the reaction chamber, are being stored in a Midgard Warehouse on the Docks.
After using a warehouse inventory
Lo has asked you to acquire a protein analyzer to study the circumstances surrounding Eclipse. You know the reaction chamber is in crate 983 in the Midgard Warehouse on the Docks. Now it's just a matter of finding it.
After acquiring an incomplete chamber
Lo has asked you to acquire a protein analyzer to study the circumstances surrounding Eclipse. You've found the reaction chamber, but the emitter is still missing. They probably have it somewhere more secure within the warehouse. The arms dealer mentioned it's illegal.
After acquiring an inactive analyzer
Lo has asked you to acquire a protein analyzer to study the circumstances surrounding Eclipse. You've found the two halves of the analyzer, the reaction chamber and the emitter. Now you just need to get it working again.
And, if you don't have salvaging tools
The arms dealer you were working with mentioned that the Squatter King on the Docks might be able to help.
After acquiring the protein analyzer
You've acquired the protein analyzer for Lo.
After talking to Lo about it again
You've acquired the protein analyzer for Lo. He's asked you to set it up somewhere safe, like your place, and run the purest Eclipse you can find through it.
After acquiring some Eclipse residue and then talking to Lo again
Lo's verified Eclipse is similar to the substance they were working on back before the Incident. He'd like you to compare it to samples of creatures from the Slags or ether to see if there's contamination.
And, if you have brought him two? samples:
You've begun to accumulate evidence, in the form of ghoul proteins and fine hound dust.
And, if you have brought him three samples:
You've risen to the occasion, providing Lo with ghoul proteins, fine hound dust, and some toxic oil.
Or, if you have provided enough samples to finish the quest:
You've provided Lo with incontrovertible proof that it's not a simple Eclipse contamination, by providing him with ghoul proteins, fine hound dust, a charred blob, and some toxic oil.
Finished Quest - after giving him 4 samples
You've helped Lo determine whether Eclipse is related to the Incident that created the Slags.
Notes
If you talk to Lo about this quest to start it, and then complete the survivor's quest by helping two of the other people, the quest will be removed from your quest log, but you can still go find the man in the VIP Room to make a protein analyzer.
